Follow Your ARO: Where We are vs. Where We are Going

Abuse Refuge Organization (ARO) is constantly changing as a non-profit organization. To set goals and benchmarks for growth and progress, ARO uses a strategic phase plan.

In the current phase, Phase II, our focus is on awareness and funding. By onboarding new volunteers daily, ARO looks to help spread our message by expanding staff to concentrate that effort.

“Hopefully, we will be able to hire enough people that we can really take on all those tasks that we need to actually get the support behind the actual product to move on to the next stage,” said Nicole Leonard, Human Resources Manager. “We’re hiring a bunch of people to try and get that up and running and laying the foundation for that program.”

ARO got its start during the pandemic, and it shows ARO’s resilience to partner with victims of abuse to provide free services and care for them, even during difficult circumstances. ARO has been thinking big since the start, planning to implement services on a global scale.

Kelly Dehn, co-founder of ARO said, “From the start, we envisioned ARO as a global organization with 10,000 staff strong along with chapters and connectivity to different organizations and governments around the world. We adjust ourselves almost every day to not only the needs of the organization but also to the needs of the marketplace we are establishing.”

Moving forward into Phase III and beyond, ARO hopes to start the pilot program for “Norm Therapy,” a precursor to therapy administered by qualified clinicians. ARO is looking for willing doctors and therapists to provide their services to revolutionize the Abuse Care Industry.

ARO can continue to blossom with the help of donations. Whether that be time, money, or resources, any contribution to ARO will further its success.

“Just sharing social media posts and sharing through word of mouth is super, super helpful for getting volunteers,” said Leonard. “People who maybe can’t donate, but if you have a friend or family member who is able to and wants to help out, it really helps spread the message as far as possible.”
